Well, it's been a busy holiday season this year. Lots of snow caused schools to close, work schedules to change and holiday get-to-gethers to be re-scheduled.
We made a snow man and Tyra and I both made snow angels. The dogs had fun with the snow, maybe too much fun! Pedro actually "killed" our first snow man before he was even completed.
Now, the snow is gone and the winter holidays are coming to a close.
I am looking forward to spring, not just b/c of the change of weather, but also b/c of our upcoming family vacation to Seattle! I know, it's not very far, but a couple of days spent at the fun Seattle family attractions is plenty to get excited about!
Until next time!

thanksgiving
So, i stayed home and cooked for myself, Aaron and Tyra. Everything turned out so good! I ate more food than I have in a long time, but i will be working it off over the next week. Aaron is leaving in a few hours and I'll have my house to myself (and Tyra, of course) for the next 7 days. I put a fresh set of sheets on my bed and made it up all pretty. Aaron won't be here to mess up the blankets, so I'll be thouroughly enjoying my bed.
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving too!

Cats, kittens and stitches
It's been a troublesome months for the cats residing in the Wolfe house. I think we should start with the smallest of them all and work our up from there.
Mickey, 12 week old kitten of Sarah.
His time with us has been so memorable. We raised him from birth and became very attached. He is so cute and cuddly and loves people so much. He's feisty and playful and always in the mood to pounce your feet.
He has finally made it to his new home with my friend Deborah. I figured he'd have a hard time being away from me and Sarah would be sad that he was gone. Boy was I wrong! After quickly and confidently investigating his new home, he went right to playing with his new owners. He was at home instantly. As for Sarah, she's never been happier! It was like she was glad to FINALLY be rid of her kitten.
Sarah, also a small cat, yet called overweight by the vet.
Yes, she was at the vet. She's finally back to normal after being fixed. It wasn't fun having a cat in stitches, especially since she would stop licking herself and she wasn't being very careful about jumping up on stuff. But, all in all, she healed fine and is now more loving than she ever was!
Mystery, oh my, what a pain he's been!
So, Mystery got himself into a lot of trouble this month! It started with some sort of encounter with another animal. Where and when, we do not know. But, it happened b/c he ended up with a ruptured abscess, which is caused by an animal bite.
Any who, after surgery, and an overnight stay at the vet, a huge bill, stitches and tubes, our cat came back home.
He is still half bald and in stitches. He's doing okay, but he is very sad that we won't let him go outside. I'm sure he doesn't understand that we are doing what's best for him.
I'm glad he will be okay and he will NOT be going outside anymore.
I'm sure you've enjoyed me droning on about my cats, but, that's all I have to say about them!

Dance off! (yeah right!)
Well, the Belly dancing class will come to an end next week. This week, we finally put all the moves we've learned so far into an actual routine. However, none of us are even close to being good at it! It is still fun though. I'm surprised at how fun it is to dance badly with strangers that also dance badly! I decided that I really liek belly dancing, and it's a really good workout. I put a belly dancing DVD on my Queue, so I will keep it up even after the class ends.
Next on the list:
Find a class that me and Tyra can join together. I think that would be so much fun!
I didn't mention this before, but...
The class is at th Lakewood Community Center, which is where I got married. It is weird being there, b/c I haven't been there since that day. It was even more weird when I went in the bathroom last week. I remember getting ready in there and freaking out a little, like all brides-to-be do.
Until next time...

Belly Dancing
Well, last week was my first belly dancing lesson. I knew i would be pretty bad at it when I signed up, but decided that i didn't care how dumb i looked.
Sure enough, I did pretty bad. But, I enjoyed the class very much and have been practicing all week. I hope to do better tonight.
The moves are very different than anythign I've ever done, and you use muscles you never thought you had. There's a lot of hip movement and you have to walk funny. Really funny! It took 3 days of practice before I was finally able to do it right, and I still am not sure if I even got it! I will certainly find out tongiht, as my teacher is more than willing to point out all the mistakes I make. I don't mid because I know that I will never learn with out the hands on direct approach she has.
I will post an update after another lesson or two!

My Vote Counts!
As you know, this is a vefry important election year, and for many reasons. I am very excited to vote, because this will be my first time. I just got my registraion card in the mail today! Yippie!!! I can't wait to volunteer my time next week to the Obama campaign. I am so excited to share this experience with my family. I am so sad that my big sister can't join with us, because of her location, but I know she is doing her part. Tyra has taken very well to politics, and her babysitter even comented that she talks about the election every day. I am doind the best I can to answer her questions without using the words like "evil" but it's proven to be more difficult than i thought. I know that she will benifit form learning the cold hard facts.
